Towing Mirrors
Towing Mirrors
I bought a 2009 ford f150 xlt back in september and it came with basic side mirrors no heat and no turn signal . I saw on a old post about Tasca parts towing mirrors that pull out with turn signal and heated looks like a great price my question is do these trucks come prewired and is it a plug and play . Do i need to buy the button for the dash and is the harnes behind the dash already . Dealer won't give me a straight answer . Thanks for any help . skidoos

Skidoo, I have not jumped in this thread because I am not sure. We went thru this and put towing mirriors from Tasca but had the heated and lighted mirriors from the start. now from what we have seen, Ford is good about installing a complete harness for all accessories and if you buy a switch for the dash should be plug and play. if they do not use a certain accessory they just leave the wire hang. If it were me I would try get the switch and take the Bezel off and look for the harness connector that will match the switch terminals. I am very surprised a Ford tec cannot tell you the answer.
You may have to buy the switch for the dash and the relay in the fuse block for heated mirrors. It should already be wired for it, though. I bought the 07 tow mirrors for my 06 and it wasn't wired for heated or puddle lamps. Everything else works, though.

I was told that i need the wire harnes buy ford and the swicth does not come seperate for the heated mirror you need to buy the whole control for like $300:00 .I don't think so . If you do do yours please let me know how you made out because I cant get a good solid answer from anyone . Good luck skidoos

15-20 minutes per side, if you aqlready have heated lighted mirriors it is plug and play.

It took me about 45 minutes for the driver side and 20 minutes for the passenger side. It took me a little longer to figure out how to get the door panel off without breaking anything and I had to figure out which wire I had to move in the harness to have things work. All in all, it was easy.
