You did do all 8 injector o rings right? You really should if not.
Also after doing the Injector o rings it will usually smoke like crazy for several miles and not want to start right up afterwards if you shut it off for any length of time. It takes some time to get all the air out of the fuel and oil system. Usually at least 20 miles of hard driving. I usually hook a heavy trailer on after I do the injectors for someone. It purges them out faster.
I bought all 8 but I only did the passenger side last night. My wife was getting impatient and already annoyed for wasting a day off. Yeah it did smoke like crazy for a few minutes, and it did take about 20 seconds of cranking. I then drove it about 35 miles home, romping on it most of the way.
Oregon Fuel injection is right down the street from my house and online it says the orings are a stocked item. So will be there bright and early in the morning to pick some up and then head out to the shop and change them out. I am crossing my fingers. I cant afford to miss work cause of this.
Well I got it fixed. It was the IPR O-rings. The flat one was missing about 1/4 of it and the round one was broken. So now I have 4 injectors with new o-rings and an IPR with new o-rings. In a couple of weeks I will finish the other 4 o-rings Thanks for all your help guys. You proved to be more helpful than the local international dealer.
Blue, that is awesome. I am so happy for you that you got it fixed. This site is amazing. So many people here to help out. Make sure to rep the ones that helped you the most. Happy motoring and KEEP ON TRUCKIN!
I think you might have some other unrelated issue. I work the dog shi.... out of mine, just like those other diesels!! I also pulled a 42' enclosed trailer, weighted in at 25K (33K total), for 12,500 miles without a problem. You should check all the sensors.
Didn't you have that torque converter slip? jk lol
It shouldn't if it's working alright. I do a lot of hay work around here on my farm and others. Once last year I came out of a field headed for the barn about 15 miles away with 6 big trailers hitched like a train behind me. They all had 4 big round bales of alfalfa hay on them weighing about 1000 pounds a piece. I didn't dare go over 30 mph though. The trailers have front turning axles on all of them and the whole train was swinging around behind me. I had the smv emblems on that day.
I'm glad you got the truck fixed finaly. It's always nice when it's something cheap.
How right you are cowmilker08, you have a good memory. To this day I still believe that slip was because I was fooling around with the TC switch I installed. I don't know for sure though. Next trans will be BTS, RacerX or Woods. The motor did great though!!
