91 f150 speed sensor

hello everyone , speedometer broke the other day.cable housing rusted down at speed sensor.ordered the cable went to put it on and found out the top of the sensor was just shoved into the bottom part. truck was bought used so never looked until now. sensor is readily available. my question is the cip that bolts into tail hosing is not in the best shape, and read somewhere that it maybe left handed.as this maybe a one shot deal on the bolt, kinda like to improve my odds. any help is greatly app.

i forgot to say it is 4 w.d. and it goes to tailhousing of transfer case. the pic of the part is right but no bolt in the view . that would make it all to easy. the clip is just a u style that holds the end into case with a hole for the bolt to thread into the housing?
