Speedometer

I have a 98 F150 2WD, my speedometer does not work. My odometer and trip meter work. I have taken off the speed sensor on the transmission and it looks fine. What else can be the problem. I was told that maybe the cable is not hooked up properly on the instrument cluster, all other gauges and lights work on the cluster.

It's the speedometer head itself that's bad since the odometer is working.

Thanks for the reply, what exactly is the speedometer head and how do I fix that.

Pull the cluster and send it to a shop that specializes in their repair or replace the whole cluster.
