Little update. Checked a few things last night. Checked oil level on dipstick and it is down a little, so definitely oil coming out of the Exhaust. Checked the HPO reservoir and it is normal. Checked the residual oil on the exhaust and on the ground and there is no hint of fuel. So then started the truck and it fired right up. Then this morning i came out decided to start the truck and it fired up again. So now im really leaning to the turbo.
Alright, did one more chakc last night on the turbo and there is some seepage where the center section and turbine housing mate and where the Turbine housing and outlet mate also. So now i am almost positive the turbo is leaking past the seal. This isnt good. sounds like i need a whole new center section.
FIXED! Well, it ended up not being injector orings or the turbo. The CCV hose had enuf of a dip in it that it somehow had some condensation in it that caused some backpressure which led to the oil not draining from the turbo and causing it to push thru the turbo.
Drove it to the shop to work on it and the smoke cleared up the further i drove it and by the time i got there, there was no more leak. So i shortened the hose and evened it out without any dips in it and everythign seems to be fine. The length of hose i cut off seemed to have a lot of residual oil in and leaked all over in the bed of my truck, and it was a good amount too.
Also installed my new tune from Jody which is without Big OIl since i sold the pumps, and it seems to run very strong. Thanks Jody!
I want to thank everyone who helped me out with this with their inputs and parts. Very much appreciated.
I agree Lisa, i always hope it is something simple, but expect the worst
I do the same. Always have that "fear factor" that the problem is something major. I just get a laugh out of how often the ol' man's wisdom comes back to kick me in the butt.
So...gonna have to simple green that motor now Ken. ...not to mention the rest of the truck..
Great to hear Ken, I mentioned in another thread about somebody running their CCV hose to the back, any dips will cause problems, thats why mines straight down. Anyways, really glad to here, haven't ever heard since I had my 38r anybody having problems, go grab a beer.
Thanks Mike! Yea if it causes me anymore issues, i will just cut it shorter, just not wanting too much odor in the cab from it. But im sure it will work. just glad it didnt cost me anything.
Also need to make sure that the hose is routed over the master cylinder, so any oil will drain right back into the valve cover. Seems to be working really well now.
