Rich, I didn't know that you could get the fuel tested for gel point. Where do you get that done? If you don't mind the 4 hour drive, farmb0y and I would help you get that oil leak taken care of.
Mark, Thank you very much for the offer! I might just have to do that once the warm weather returns. I make a few trips to Minneapolis here and there and the trip to you area is just about the same distance. Right now the truck is sitting during the snowy weather since it is not 4WD.
As far as the fuel analysis goes - labs like Schaeffer's, Polaris and others do them. The Winter Fuel Program test is the less expensive and only checks cloud point and CFPP (cold filter plug point). Schaeffer's charges about $35 for this test. Not sure about the prices of other labs. Not a bad price for piece of mind and knowing what to expect.

The more detailed analysis covers more properties of the fuel such as contamination, water, cetane, etc..... his runs about $75. Ussually run this test if there are fuel related problems with equipment.
