460/5, thanks for the clarity there. I'm looking forward to the video, and I'll be buying some mufflers today probably. Then I'll be waiting for my next paycheck to get everything all installed. 2 weeks sounds like it'll be too long though, lol. Ok, I'll check back here later and see what's going on. Thank you everyone for the opinions and info. Making my life a lot easier with trying to figure out what type of muffler to get.
Whole heartedly agree, I couldn't stand them even though I ended up keeping them for so long.
I honestly feel Flowmasters remind me of Chevys. Whenever I hear that "drone" sound, I instantly know it's a Chevy with Flowmasters.

Or worse..dodge's..LOL What I ment to say earlier, I'm used to the drone sound. I dont like it, but after $500.00 invested in the exhaust a few years ago, I'm stuck with it for a while. I added Hedman Elite headers ($350.00 plus, $40.00 gaskets, $50.00 bolts, and $40.00 to weld the old pipes to the collector) 2 months ago, and they still sound the same.."droneeee"..GROAN!. I wish I used the solid, non-glass cherry bombs, or their equivilent. At leats it would have changed the sound.
The only time I really don't like the drone is when I have a headache or really tired on a drive home kinda thing. Neither really happens too often, so it's not bad. But ya, I think the only reason I like it is because it annoys everyone else.
Thanks for the vid, sounds great. Exhaust doesn't look too bad either. I like the rumble it gives, and I do like the raspier revs. Gotta say, it does look a little cold out there, lol. Just a little.
lol. thank you. and the cold isnt too bad, its only down in to the 20s during the day. x_x like i said before, that system has gotten me pulled over before. also made a guy peel out to get away from it at a stop light. his window was down right next to the passenger outlet, and my truck burns a little oil and has no cat. he didnt look to happy...
amen to that. lol. my 76's glasspacks are totally burnt out, so its basically strait pipe true duals. has a rich mixture with a warmed up cam, and THAT truck pisses people off.

I agree with not liking the sound of flow masters as well. It seems to be very popular in the hot rod crowd though. and for some reason only sound good on the stangs. Must have something to do with the resonators and cats on the car.
I had them on my 77 4x4. it has a cam, headers, dual exh and it had a very hollow tin can sound to it. I remember whenever a rock would kick up and hit the exhaust it would piiiiiiiiing! with an echo LOL!
I have heard the magna flows and they sound real nice. quiet for cruising around (you can have a conversation on a date with them )
and sound real aggressive when you get on them.
Guess it all boils down to what your taste (and age) are. I'm 43. very much into rods but still want to hear my music (not so much the wife when cruising ).
And as a side note. a Big block will sound completely different then a small block of the same exhaust set up.
also, you can buy a set of mufflers at your local auto parts store, slip them on without any fasteners just to hear them. if you don't like them return them. Ive done it a few times. I told the person behind the counter what I was going to do and had no problem returning them.
