my 2000 has never had a steering stabilizer, but a buyy of mine noticed that today and couldnt believe it, he said with my 35s i should have one, is this true?
Your truck may or may not have come with one from the factory. With 35's you should prob have a least a single on there. You could get one for as little as $49 for a rancho plus a $12 dollar part from Ford or all the way up to $450 for the dual Icon setup. There are quite a few in between. I ran a Rancho setup for a while and now run the dual Icon,so if you have a questions about those two feel free to ask. Other members have some of the other setups so hopefully they will chime in too.
If you drive on dirt road or washboards, it will keep your wheel from snapping out of your hands. I can tell when my stabilizer sprung a leak last summer. I knew it from the feel of the wheel in my hands.
I tore mine off and will not waste my money on another one.... BTW I run 38's... no way the steering wheel is coming out of your hands unless your not hanging on to the wheel,...

Are you serious? I guess Ford wasted some money there because they are good about throwing money away. Like the ESPN football program says: "C'mon man".
I have a '00 CC LB SRW and it came with a steering stabilizer. I could tell after it died after my front end work. It was a bit squirrely with a dead steering stabilizer. I bought one from NAPA and installed it. It was nice and tight for one day. It must've worn in after that day. I was interested in getting a proper length yellow & blue Bilstein shock for it, but can't find part numbers with accompanying lengths. I found some dual stabilizer kits on summit racing that were reasonably priced.

I mentioned in another thread that Bilstein is supposed to be coming out with a steering stabilizer in the spring. That came from Bilstein Rep. IIRC some folks use a 5125 Bilstein for their stabilizer.

I would think you would have to run the Bilstein 5125's in pairs using them as a steering stabilizer due to the shocks behaving diferently in each direction....Just my.02 worth.
