Key Programming
#2
I seem to reacll that there will need to be at least one "module" added to make this work.I have Bulldog remote start with keyless entry, and alarm that was given to me.After doing some research I elected not to use it in my 07 as it was going to be Way TOO MUCH HASSLE....The exact name of the module escapes me at present, but iin essence it bypasses your PATS system.Perhaps posting this question in the Audio portion of the forum will get better results.Concerning programming a third key in its own right,Providing you have TWO original keys its a pretty simple procedure...but to my understanding this is not what your looking for.

For the PATS key on 98 and newer, you'll need two working keys (which it sounds like you have) so here are the instructions"
1. Insert and existing key into the ignition cylinder.
2. Turn the ignition cylinder ON (RUN) and back to OFF. Ignition should stay on for at least ONE SECOND.
3. Remove the existing key and, within TEN seconds, insert a second working key and turn it to ON (RUN) and the back OFF. Ignition must be in ON for at least ONE second, but no more than TEN seconds. Remove the key.
4. Insert the new key before TWENTY seconds have elapsed and turn it to ON (RUN). Leave it the ON position for at least ONE second and turn back to OFF.
5. The security light will light up for THREE seconds to indicate that the new key has been successfully programmed.

Check with your local locksmiths to see if they can make and program a 2nd key for less than the dealer. There are lots of threads about this subject. Here is one of them; https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...pare-keys.html

You'll need atleast two WORKING keys to program the third. You cannot program a second key with only one working. This is where you have to bend over and pay a dealership. I went through the same thing, and no companies around me could do it without activating the Passive Anti Theft System. I paid to have a second one programmed, and did the third myself to save some money. It's unfortunate, but that's how the cookie crumbles.
