I just got it checked out and auto zone told me that my Purge flow sensor circut is trigering my check engine light. if any one can help me i dont know what to do. i have read through my hanes manual and the owners manual and cant find any thing about the PFS. any sugestions?
Look in the "Tech Info" thread atop this forum & scroll down to the emissions section for DPFE testing.
The DPFE sensor is the EGR control feedback sensor & is often the cause of the code you have, but it can also be caused by a carboned up EGR valve feedback orfice, or connecting hose, so follow the check out proceedures in the thread links & let us now how it goes.
WOOOPS, P1445 is for the Evap System, purge flow sensor high input, not for the EGR system, I wasn't even in the ball park when I posted that reply.
SO, have a look at the charcoal canister evap sensor, it's wiring & tubing for problems. Often times the problem is with the systems purge solenoid opening up, or sticking.
When you go to KOEO you should hear/feel the purge solenoid click & open, so the engine can suck the stored gas fumes out, which will make it easier for the engine to fire on a cold start.
EDIT: Here is a link from our "Tech Info" thread located atop this forum, about the EVAP system, that you might find helpful in your trouble shoot. Lots of other good info there too, so be sure to look through it. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...rol-valve.html
