1979 302 manual

I just bought a 65 f100 with a 79 302 in it. I'm having trouble finding anything on it that will help me locate things on the engine. I'm pretty green in auto and bought this to take my time and learn on the go with help.

So any direction of where to find a manual or any information would be great.
I'm having trouble with the linkage right now. Also, where to put/check the tranny fluid.

Do you know if your '79 302 came out of a car or a truck? Did the person who swapped the engine also swap the transmission and other items, such as the steering column and shifter linkage? You didn't say what kind of transmission you have but I sense it is an automatic. You can go to most any AutoZone, O'Rielly's, Pep Boys or similar auto parts store and pick up a Chilton's or Haynes manual for '79 Ford F-150 trucks that will include information on your powertrain, assuming your transplant was a truck engine. That should answer the questions you are asking. Are there any other non-original additions to your truck such as power steering or (power) disc brakes? Servicing information/repair parts can be an issue when changes to the vehicle have been made and relevant information is not provided. Good luck!

Also, if you haven't found it already, there's a forum right here devoted to that engine family:
