Grease fittings
Cant recall where I got the idea FORD used cheapo - meaning "NO GREASE FITTING" suspension and U joint parts.
Just changed the oil & filter on my EX, - noticed standard "zerk" type fittings on both the tie-rods, cross tubes, AND the front U-joints.
On feeling the "boots" or seals of the tie-rods, they feel "inflated", meaning they must be at least still partially filled with grease.
So - how often to you guys hit those fittings with a grease gun ?

Never? I had the front hubs off recently and noticed the fittings on the tie rods, but they seemed to be doing their jobs. This may be standard neglegence, but it's no where in any service manual I've read.

this is interesting - because mine has u joints all over the place. Could this indicate a last-minute (or "last year" "production change"? I know mine is legit "as produced", serial no. suggests it was from the last week or so of production before the Excursion line was shut down.
I got it when it had about 10,000. mi on it - looked and smelled like a brand-new one - meaning, under-carriage obviously never had a spot of dirt on it - receiver never had a trailer hitch in it.
