Tie rod end won't take grease

I have an '88 F-350 1 ton dump and I tried to grease the drivers side tie rod end and grease just came out of the fitting threads.
Is it time to replace the tie rod end or?

it may not have come out the threads but perhaps the collar itself from the grease gun - repalce the zerk and try again.

Sometimes heating them slightly will clear the solid grease blocking the way, use a small propane torch but be careful not to melt the boot. wrapping a soaking wet rag around the boot will help keep it from melting//burning and allow for more heat.

Myself if I can't get one to take grease I at least wait until the joint is shot before replacing it, unless of course it is stiff and causing problems already.
