AIH delete?

Hi all,
I've been thinking about the AIH delete. Is it worth it? I hate how sluggish the truck is when it's cold, so will deleting the AIH make the engine take much longer to warm up? Are the benefits noticeable?
Thanks

It's more aesthetic that anything else. Yeah, it takes a big chunk of metal out or the intake path, but I doubt it's something you'll be able to tell. And the AIH only kicks on when you're parked and idling for a while when it's cold enough. It doesn't come on when you're driving or anything, so it doesn't do anything for warm-up. Just helps with white smoke in cold weather. No biggie.

I used the port to install one of Clay's cool delete plugs, and intalled an Isspro electronic boost sensor there. Very responsive boost gauge, and I personally, preferred not to have to run more air line.

The way Clay explained it to me there are like 7 things that have to be happening in order for the AIH to be on/operating. Problem is, there are rarely more than like 5 of those processes happening so it is almost pointless to keep the AIH in there.

+1 for Clay's plug, especially if you need a port for a boost gauge.

No problems here, Joe explained it pretty good. Here's the heater element removed and Clay's AIH tapped delete plug with boost fitting, a clean install.

So it sounds like it might provide some help pre-heating the air when we start our trucks on cold mornings. if there was a way to program it to stay on for the intitial warm up I wonder if it would make a difference and speed up our warm up time. There is a performance loss when air is warmer vs colder due to loss of air density but might be worth the trade off during warm up as I try not to run it hard until its warm anyway.

Is it worth it or is the amount of heating not sufficient or significant at flow speeds of 1700 rpm or so?

I don't think so. That's why the GPs stay on for up to several minutes depending how cold it is. The AIH is specifically for limiting white smoke when cold.
