That was almost 2 years ago, but he was learning. He is a very smart fellow. I am sure the tuning is much better now, though at the time when I put in their injectors and a 38R and got reflashed, it was like the old TS tunes I used to have and the shifts absolutely left a lot to be desired. Ran like A$$ on the street and cammed like a dog with their own tunes idling. Shifting was not making it and that is everything in an auto truck.

Things appear to have changed but DP solved all the issues I had with my rig at the time. I want to go on record as saying that Dave and Jonathan at Swamps stand behind their product 100%. Let there be no doubt where my experience is concerned. They did everything under the sun to make my experience right and I would not hesitate to try them again or recommend them. They make some really good chit and are commited to the 7.3. That should not be forgotten.

They also have that Charles guy assisting them from time to time if assistance is what you can call that. He too is a fart smellow.

Cool. Those are not huge numbers for that setup BTW. About 60 and 110 more than my lame setup with conservative tunes on PMRs. Is your truck running now? Let's get it all in the open now since we are here.

Not sure what your getting at... When I blew my last motor I was running DP tuner... cracked the block up #2 and #4 mains... and cracked the passanger side head... Cracks ALL over every single piston...

You brought it up, so dont blame the mesanger... BTW, that was PMR and Water "safe" tunes... And a TN BB...

Joe, you have always been an honest guy here. All I was getting at was your HP/TQ numbers for that new setup. Seems the modded H2E would be capable of more but maybe not. You are the undisputed gauge king here without a doubt.

Couple things... I am always an honest guy.

My HP and TQ numbers are with DP tuner and a TN BB, I never dyno'ed with the H2e.

I know I am the gauge king.

You are, and we have derailed this thread enough. BTW, what is the temp in your tires at 70MPH? Sorry, back to the original topic.

I've caught Bill looking at some 7.3s recently; I think he misses tinkering on his own vehicle. It wouldn't surprise me at all if another one showed up in our driveway soon -- or a 6.0L -- or both.
Well please tell him to buy one! We need more owner experts in the 7.3 club! (If I came off as a d!nk or ruffled any feathers, once again please accept my apology) Also, good to know about the DiPricols. I run them and wish they would make more options for the types of guages one can install.

Ok I'll get it back on track........ and come out and tell what I've recently done to my truck.

Most people know that I've been running DP-Tuner, and I've been running it since 2005. I have been extremely pleased with the tuning and with the customer service I've received over the years from Jody and Diane. I consider them friends, and I enjoy hanging out with them when they come to Denver for live tuning sessions.

Now for the news.... recently I've been toying with the idea of tuning my own truck, mostly for curiosity and to learn even more. I'm a nerd, go figure. Plus I finally got a bit of extra cash to make the move. So I recently got the Minotaur package, and just last week put the PHP chip in my truck. As of right now I'm running Bill's standard tunes that he offers. After I get a bit more time in learning the Minotaur software, I'll start building tunes for my truck and running my own programs.

Like Jody and Diane, Bill and Corey have provided excellent customer support, and right off the bat I've been very happy with the tunes and the software I've received.

Overall, props go out to both camps for the level of support they provide to their customers. I've been treated like family from everyone, and it's always a good feeling to get service beyond my expectations. I won't get into who's tunes are better, because frankly for me, it's a tossup as they each have their own unique tuning styles, and my truck runs smooth and strong with either chip. So to the OP, pick your pony and ride it. Either way, you'll be very happy.

If you ever do have a question or a problem, or just want to chat and learn a few things, my advice would be to call them up (DP-Tuner or PHP) and let them help you out.

As for me, I have a busy schedule of learning this stuff

Well since the O.P. is looking for opinions, I have had both and for ME, I prefer the PHP tunes. Keep in mind I have a 6spd and the DP tunes for the 6spd, in my opinion, could use some updating. There were dead spots and explosive spots in the DP tunes. The PHP tunes are perfectly linear and are more quiet. The truck drives like a stock truck with more power. Both companies offer excellent customer service.
I have to ask a lot of questions because of my lack of knowledge. Both Bill and Jody are willing to get on the phone and discuss what may be most appropriate for your truck. Both companies are excellent, but my truck runs smoother with the PHP tunes. Their deal is very tough to beat.
