EEC Tuning Module

Greetings All!,

Looooong time lurker.....just made a new profile as my old one was linked to a hijacked hotmail account. I am an owner in a business. We have purchased two 7.3 L trucks, an 02 F350 SRW CC 4WD and an 00 F350 DRW CC 4WD. 02 has aftermarket exhaust, 00 is stock.
I drive the 02. It has an unknown chip on the ecc. Chip has a tethered rotary switch under the dash. Truck averages 16 MPG with good power.I have gotten 20 MPG on trips out to the East Coast. Problem is I have no clue what tunes are on the chip. I would guess that it is in an Econo setting right now. I have concerns as I do tow a 7K dual axle trailer with 2800 in the bed , occasionally. We try to use the dual for the towing as it has lower gears and air bag suspension. My partner and I have installed the Guzzle Air Filter Mod. By the way, I beleive that a 2.5 inch schedule 40 PVC splice works perfectly for this. Anyway, the chip and exhaust make all the differnce between the two trucks. We are going to order a F8 chip from DP but would like some direction on who to talk to concerning the unknown chip on the 02.
I contacted James at DP Tuners Tennessee office as I did not want to bother Jody with this stuff. Link to photo below

Anyone have a clue?? Thanks in advance!

This is a Van Aaken chip. They are no longer in business. If you want to keep the hardware, but desire a fresh reburn send it to Tony Wildman with www.TotalDieselPerformance.com . He is one of the few people I know who still program those chips.

You are awesome Diane! I just received an email from James this morning as well. I will contact Mr. Wildman, but I have a feeling that we will be coming back to you guys for two f8 modules. Looking forward to dealing with your American Grown And Owned company!

Regards,

Josh

Welcome to FTE.

I would forget about that chip with the **** and do what you said in your post. You will like the switcher of the DP-TUNER better.

This response is one of the reasons that I will soon replace my edge "Juice with attitude" with a DP unit (gauges first). It is not business as usual in this country anymore to steer folks to a competitor. That attitude toward people, not neccessarily customers, coupled with all the positive write ups made my decision easy. Reps sent.
