for the front bumper im building i want to do one like this

but i was thinking...instead of using tube for the main part of the bumper i would use 4" C channel (cut and angled and tapered, not just straight C channel)and then keep the tube for the prerunner bars...think that would be any stronger?

I don't think the tubes are as weak as you think they are.

yeah id probably settle for 1/2 inch and just hope no women in a minivan picks a fight with me...

man i got a sweet idea for my bumper...build it like in the pic i posted, but on the front below the winch where the "frame" of the bumper is id throw on a chunk of diamond plate kinda like a skid plate and then id make the top of the bumper out of diamond plate too...and paint the rest black...

Hmm.. why the diamond plate? Seems like it would be equally as cool without.

Well... in the sense, I don't think the bumper looks very good. I don't like the style of bumper that sticks out so far lol.

the bed caps are diamond plate and im getting or building bed rails that will be black so i just wanted to continue the theme LOL...id apply it to the rear bumper too...plus diamond plate is sexy LOL

id proabably tone it down a bit, just big enough to fit a winch and some lights, like the size of the one on the SD but the style of that one...andi gotta have the big *** tubes like that SD LOL

Keep a bumper simple. Protection that's not fugly. I don't know what I want for mine yet, but it will be strong, and not be 500 pounds. Lol. N I know the girls will like it too. lol!
