Jim, the "correct" ratchet would have worked straight away. And yes, I screwed it up with the first go. We kept tabs on it with a mirror. It was hosed. As far as the other ratchet which is my favorite ratchet, the swivel head.......LOVE IT!!!! I have both the snapon and harbor freight versions. And they make SHORT work of back valve cover bolts, and #5 and 6 injector lines on 24v cummins. Well worth the money. If you don't have one, I HIGHLY suggest at least picking one up from harbor freight.
Neal, I'm like you, I except I went to Autozone and got my 1 1/8 IPR socket. It's deep enough to split the difference and works well for me.
I dotn think i'ma buy Craftsman tools.
Well not all of them.
Kobalt for all my wrenches and stuff from now on.
Their bits suck for drivers though, and so do their drills.
Kobalt is higher end then craftsman, and better product for cheeper.
I love my kobalt toolbox.
Cheeper then the craftsman equivilant, and 2x better construction/quality.
Their wrenches have the same quality or more, for cheaper, and i think they have the same warrenty.
Kobalt makes craftsman anyways.
haha.
Kobalt does not make Craftsman. Danaher makes Craftsman, Kobalt among others.
I just so happened to have a craftsman 1 1/8" deep that fits the IPR perfectly without having to half shaft the ratchet on there. works out even nicer now that i don't have a fuel bowl..
Oh, okay. I have the Classic Version of the snap-on one. Mines probably 15 years old.
I got to try out one of the new Snap-on's a few weeks back which have mega teeth in them. Holy cow that would work wonders in tight spots.

I thought that's what you guys were talking about. but I wasn't 100% sure.

Thanks for the extended Info. I guess the guy should have told me "danaher makes both" instead of Kobalt makes craftsman. haha.
I'm quite taken with Kobalt tools. Specially after my toolbox.
I just don't care for any of their drives for my screw guns or impact gun. The bits don't hold up. The drives for them are good. Just the bits are all cheep metal and junk out way to easy.
The new style craftsman ratchets suck also after having a set of the old style for so long. They screwed up there with that guy who designed those.
I bought this from Sears with the idea to take off the IPR and with a rachet wrench and the socket, I havent used yet, but I think it could work, what do you think?
Lotsa good info here. I didn't see where anyone mentioned a specially bent 10mm wrench for the rear passenger side turbo pedestal bolt.
That was in another thread.
Somebody had one welded onto a 4 foot piece of pipe they turned with a pipe wrench.
I think it was Kawa.
But we all know rog is nuts. so its okay.
