...just an addition of a turbo to a V10 would really narrow the gap in differences, wouldn't you think? With that in mind, the cost difference of a diesel would probably be more than a turbo kit for a V10.
Back when I was looking to purchase my F250, I already had a 7.3L PSD Excursion, so I was looking for a good V10. Unfortunately, regarding the V10, I hated the the power curve and the way the power came on. It truly felt gutless, even though I knew it wasn't. It's just the "guts" of a V10 are felt differently, at a different RPM, and the V10 just wasn't an engine that would get up and scoot around someone you'd wanna pass like a modified 7.3L does, or like my Lightning does.
So I decided as much as the V10 really is a great engine, it just didn't fit me and my desires, for what I wanted.
That being said, if I knew I could order a kit for a 2V V10, and I had the extra cash to buy said kit, I would do it in a heart beat. I would LOVE to have a turbo'd V10.

Hey, without realizing there were differences in the 2V heads and 3V heads, it was a good idea!

Sooooo...damn..a turbo. sounds great. But here's my question. Won't a turbo. increase the raw power of my V-10 gasser motor ? A BIG increase ?
Isn't there something connected to that V-10 gasser motor of mine ? Something called a TRANSMISSION ? How come the diesels have a bigger, stronger TRANSMSSION to deal with THEIR big increase in power over my gasser? How come you can't order that much more powerful diesel motor with the TRANSMISSION I have in my gasser V-10...? Anyone have any ideas...?
Are the internals of the PSD 4R100 and the internals of the V10 4R100 different? I think I've asked Mark Kovalsky about this before, but I can't remember his answer.
I know the internals of the 4R100 for the Gen 2 Lightning are the same as the PSD 4R100's. I also know the internals of the F250 5.4 4R100's are not the same as found in the PSD or Lightning 4R100's.
Either way though, a quick trip to John Wood or BTS would solve that dilemma!
That's my problem, Bill. Gasser or smoker, my "addiction" is modding and spending money on my vehicles. It's my de-stresser, so for me, it's money well-spent.
Getting a turbo for my V10 (if I had a V10) would be just another reason to start saving for a JW trans....and a Truetrac rear diff....and forged rods....and head studs....and, and...
I've had an insatiable itch to work on cars lately and working at a shop most of this week, this idea is becoming more and more appealing...(that's if I can find a V10 Ex or F250)
Hey guys, I have fell on some hard times and i'm gauging interest on my V10 Excursion Turbo kit. I've been off work over a year now and I'm looking to sell the turbo kit and eventually put the EX back stock and sell it. I had back surgery last year and never recovered pain wise due to nerve damage in my left leg, Last week I had a stimulator implanted in my spine for the left leg pain, it seems to be working so far. The kit is almost off of the truck. Just posting here before i list it in the stuff for sale.
Thanks for everyones interest in this.
Id be interested in a price for the kit you take off,I can fab whatever needs done to finish as im familiar with turbos, big time...I was going to do a cheap set-up on a remote turbo but just saw this..Here is my fab up in my 68 camaro..Pm me or post up a price..Thanks and hope things work out for you..
Nice fab work on the camaro. You shouldn't need to do much fab work on my kit becides mounting the intercooler and installing a oil drain in the pan for the turbo. Everything else is pretty much bolt on.
