I'm glad to see you found your local TTB experts. And it sounds like your original instincts were good, in that the frame shop you liked when you first went looking is the one to know--good call! As I said, IMO, for certain items/services, it's better to spend once (even if it's pricey) than to do it twice (or more? And then have to buy new tires--LOL).
