Sorry to hear that. I know I really miss mine when she is not here. Let us know how it turns out.

Well...all I can say at this point is that I'm beside myself. I rode the Harley up to the dealership today and found the truck sitting right where the tow truck dropped it off.

I went in to ask what was going on and the service rep. said they had already run diagnostics, etc. and found nothing but low oil pressure, below 504psi so the injectors won't work.

Odd, while this explains my power loss over the last few months...it doesn't explain why the truck just up and quit on me while cleaning out the EGR/intake the other day.

He wanted my authorization to pull the valve covers, fuel rails, etc. to see if I had blown O-rings or HPOP fittings, makes sense but my point is that I don't believe they've even touched the truck yet and he's trying to "upsell" me with going past diagnostics and into "exploratory surgery".

SO, it seems we've gone from a $190 diagnostic to requesting authorization for 4hrs labor ($450-something) to check O-rings/HPOP fittings, etc.

My truck remains at the back of their lot, where the tow truck dropped it off. I find it hard to believe they're pushed it into the shop, ran diagnostics and pushed it all the way back to the end of the lot??

There are PLENTY of parking spots right outside the mechanic's bay doors...I'm starting to feel like I have confirmation of my earlier reservations about taking it to the dealership.

Shouldn't there be a printout/report of the diagnostics ran?? I asked for one and the service rep. says there's nothing to print out...could they check oil pressure/HPOP output in the parking lot?? ...would they?

Hmmmmmm...I hate to say it but I'm awfully suspect at this point and don't know what to do, they've had it for 1.5 days and it seems they haven't touched it. If they haven't had time, they just need to tell me that but the service rep. claims they had it in right after it was delivered yesterday - I call B.S.

I am SO frustrated at this point, NOTHING to drive either and have a race trip in 5 days.

There is a laptop device that they can run diagnostics on. Atleast the diesel tech here has such a device. How sophisticated it is, that I can't tell you, I wasn't that up close and personal to it. I don't think there is a way to hookup a printer to it, and I don't know if there is a format that it can be saved to(like a CSV file or similar). I do believe though they can pull codes and run computer diagnostics though out in the lot with the "laptop".

While I believe they can pull codes and statistics in the parking lot via laptop (as I would do with my crappy Livewire setup) I just don't feel that they did anything in the way that would justify the $190 charge I've already incurred...it's just my feeling.

I understand that tool is probably several thousand $$$$$$$$$ and they have to put food on the dinner table, I just feel they are guessing at the issue and more important than that, it's apparent they have yet to dig into the truck as it still sits there from what I am told.

It's just frustrating, I would've never had it towed there if I had to wait all through the weekend to find out WTF??

I despise being at anyone's mercy and I guess that's pretty much the root of the problem...so it's just ME at this point with the problem...there, solved.

That's pretty much what they charge just for pulling codes. I've seen/heard/read anywhere from 100(what they do here) to 210 for just pulling codes. That's why AE program pays for itself with just pulling codes alone for 2-4 times(depending on what they charge you at the dealership).

There might be some of that going on. I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't rule it out.

If only everything could be that simple.
