Been there before... I had the gooseneck in tow heading to a tractor pull when I blew out a tire on the front tri-axle. No big deal, break out the high-low jack and get the job done. I got the new tire on and started jacking the load back down, but did not extend the handle enough for the click. I let off the pressure and the handle which made it snap back and knocked me in the ditch.

I proceeded to torque the lugs down and noticed that there was red paint on my torque wrench. Finally realized that I split my chin in two and was bleeding like a stuck pig. Pulled out a shop towel and heading down the road. That sucker finally stopped bleeding 3 hours later. Should have got stitches I guess.

Never had a chain binder snap back, but I torque like Todd does.

When I chain down our forklift on the trailer I use 2 regular binders on the front; get them as tight as I can w/o a bar. Then I use 2 ratchet binders on the back to pull everything tight. Works good.
