I have a e99 f350 cc 2wd drw and I just installed a MBRP 4" turbo back #6200P and I noticed after all champs were tightened It looks like the top of the down pipe is touching intake manifold( withing 2ins of turbo). And if I turn the down pipe down to clear by 1/4 inch the bottom of down pipe is on the trans crossmember. So I put the back of the down pipe up so I have at least 1 inch up off the crossmember for clearance.
Also I have wrapped my down pipe which adds a 1/4 to 3/8 in to the 4" down pipe. So as it sits it is touching the wrap. I'm NOT happy but I think I can live with it.
1: Do you think there is any harm leaving it like that ? OK it isn't good for the wrap but I don't care that much about the wrap. The wrap is cheap..Well kinda ?!?
2: Has anyone else had clearance issue ( crossmember and turbo area) with the MBRP?
I had some problems with it rubbing on the transmission crossmember. I ended up adding some spacers to the hanger on the mid-pipe so that it was pushing away from the crossmember not pulling towards it. It took alot of adjusting and twisting.(The problem with your kit is that once you tighten it the crimp clamps are stuck, making it a PIA to adjust.) I think i also ended up using a torch to bend the clamp with a hanger on it so that it fit better as well. I didn't have any clearance issues on the downpipe though.
Hope this helps,
Kevin
The only thing I can add is to loosen all the clamps for the exhaust including the downpipe at the turbo and realign the exhaust. I have an 4" MBRP system and was able to get it lined up perfectly. It does take some fine tuning though and patience. I used a piece of wood to help with the crossmember issue. I laid the 1x4 on the crossmember and then the exhaust on top of the wood. After getting all the tubing where I liked it, I tighten everything down and removed the wood. It's never rubbed on the crossmember over two and a half years now.
4" MBRP here too. I read through a few threads here prior to installing mine. Loosely clamped it all in place then adjusted and snugged down. No issues.
I have read a few threads with downpipe fitment issues. That wrap is a good idea but is most likely the reason it rests against the head.
The problem with the aftermarket downpipe on an E99 is that the turbo pedestal is over an inch shorter and that is the reason the downpipe has very little clearance near the head and the tranny cross member. All of the after market exhausts are really designed for 99+. I was able to install a 4" Magnaflow exhaust without a rubbing issue but it took a lot of adjusting. After a late 99 conversion the only clearnce issue now is between the tranny dipstick tube and the downpipe, because of the taller 99+ pedestal and a shorter tranny dipstick tube on an E99. On these E99s if it's not one thing it's another.
Well that explains alot...E99 once again biting me in the butt !! Thank you for pointing out the one inch pedestal issue. Now if I change pedestals to late 99 do I have to change syder and intakes. Or can you just chane the pedestal and use e99 turbo and syder?

Now if I change pedestals to late 99 do I have to change turbo, syder and intakes. Or can you just chane the pedestal and use e99 turbo and syder and longer hoses to intake? I would love to change over to a complete late 99 set up. But I have money issues that keep me from doing so.
That is what I was afraid of!! Do you sell achange over kit or do you have to buy it piece by piece on your website? That and I am guessing turbo also needs to be replaced?
