shift linkage/bushing/grommets

Hello all,

Im looking for the part numbers for all the bushings/grommets on the shift linkages.

They appear to be a few different colors. White, Brown, black.

Which ones do I need for my 1978 F250 4x4 400 C-6 full time transfercase(converted to part time)

Wow. Not even Numberdummy is on this one!


I fould some bushing part numbers but anyone know if they are correct?

EIFZ-7F330

E4ZZ-7341-A

E0SZ-7341-B

Here is the desc of the part numbers I fould

Black = E1FZ-7F330-A

Brown = E4ZZ-7341-A about 5/8" tall, 1/4 bracket thickness 1/4" rod

Blue = E0SZ-7341-B about 1/2" tall, 5/32 bracket.........1/4 rod


also found these online... no ref to what sizes or colors

at least I can keep my self entertainted!

Where did you find those parts?
The black one you have pictured looks like what I need for
the linkage on my three speed manual trans.
The ones I picked up (sorry, no pics) are C5TZ-7343-A.
They look quite a bit different, so I am apprehensive about using them
since the old ones will be ruined by taking them apart.

I need some input in general about replacing these bushings.
Anyone ever done it before?

Where did you find those parts?
Murph, I have been searching the net for a couple days now trying to figure out what bushings/grommets I need for my truck.

My issue is I removed all the grommets and tossed them out when I sandblasted and repainted all my linkages. I ASSUMED that this would be an easy part to figure out, and would be readily available.

But Im finding out that I might have to go to the salvage yard and identify all the bushing colors and sizes so I can try to get the correct ones for my truck.

I need all of them, steering shaft selector, gear selector (2), trasnsfer case shifter, and what ever else I may have missed.

I hate to go to the local "dealer" without first having part numbers as "most" parts guys dont want to be bothered with old parts.

Keep us posted on your process.
I'm interested to know about the availability of these different
bushings, and how to go about snapping them into place.
Guys that I've talked to say that it's a real headache installing
the new ones without the special tool it requires.

My '75 shop manual calls for
bushings- C08A-7341-A, obsolete
tool- T67P-7341-A, probably obsolete too (dang it).

The tool is still available... and ridiculous $$$

I have seen a few drawings of the tool. I think im gonna just make my own. Pair of cheap steel pliers, couple pieces of flat stock, full thread screw and a nut.

When I replaced mine, I "made-up" an installation tool. Take a socket that is smaller than the OD of the flat side of the bushing and a socket that is bigger than the OD of the tappered end. Position the bushing for installation. Place the smaller socket on the flat side of the bushing and position the bigger socket on the oposite side of the shift arm. Take a small, long screw or bolt and pass through both sockets. Put a nut on it and tighten. This will draw everything together. I dipped the bushing in some dish detergent to act as a lubricant.

This is not a part number, it's an ID number, and you typed it wrong.

The actual part number has been replaced SIX times.

Just out of curiosity I checked Toolsource.com. They have the installation tool, their version is made by OTC.......$325.00!!!!! And it's not even gold plated.
Like my tool better. It was free.

ok all,

I got my parts in today from my local ford dealer. Numberdummy is the man!

However, I beleive he misunderstood one part. It appears that he gave me the part number for the shifter bushing and the shifter/transmission pivot point. I dont have this setup on my truck as I have the full time transfer case.

2) EOTZ7335C .. Nylon Bushing, Transfer Case Shift Lever / Available from Ford.

EOTZ7335C replaced D3TZ7335A

Fits: 1973/79 F100/250 4WD / 1979 F350 4WD.

MSRP each: $2.50 // Y2KFORDPARTS.COM price each: $1.80.
I beleive the other part number he gave will work for the linkage on the t-case selector. I will have to try them?!?!
