So ive been hearing some talking about a so called smoke switch, and i found that if i have a question about ford that i cant seem to find, theres bound to be a knowledgable group of people here.
Ive read up on a switch that a person can put in-line with their MAP sensor, when the switch is flipped it sends a full signal the the computer telling it the truck is at full boost, in turn dumping fuel into the motor. My questions is how could this work if the computer begins to de-fuel around 22 lbs of boost? ive heard of more people doing this with Dodges but ive read a couple threads about it on a Ford.
Any and all knowledge would be helpfull, Thanks!!!
I have seen it first hand with a Dodge and it was impressive. I have no knowledge of it in the FORD world. I would think if it was possible, someone would have mentioned it here a long time ago.
I do believe it takes more then the map sensor being fooled on our trucks to make it dump more fuel. With my OBA I can smoke tons of smoke and the map sensor only sees 20# boost.
There's a pretty good thread running about it on another site. They are arguing about cutting off either the MAP sensor or the EBPV. It's an entertaining read.
Diesel Power Mag is where you need to go.

Its easily done. We just did it on a 2000 with the Bully Dog Power Pup. Where the map sensor plugs in, I tapped the red and white wires on the Bully Dog Harness and put a switch in there. It works great.
Nice forget making some power just make some smoke so that way you can get spanked by a real truck .

Actually, I would have to say that any other truck around here would have a hard time keepin up with this one. We put the smoke switch on just to puff a bit of smoke at the ricers. Dont critisize me, I know how to build them the right way. That involves pulling that stupid v-8 out and droppin in an inline 6 thats pushing just over 600 hp on fuel only.
