Smile Body side chrome trim:

Hi folks, does anyone know if someone sells the chrome body side trim that runs the length of the 1977 Ford f250, I am having my truck restored and I have not found anyone who sells it, please let me know if you have any suggestions.

I have a complete set of the thin chrome trim from a 75 F100. No damage to the trim, still on the the truck that I would sell. Feel free to contact me at shane@sandenwood.com if you are interested. I think they reproduce the wider trim with the rubber accent, but not the thinner chrome trim.

As stated above the wide chrome trim w/black vinyl insert is widely available in the aftermarket, to my knowledge the narrow chrome trim isn't available anywhere.

anyone other than Dennis Carpenter? I priced out the wide trim for my 76 350 and almost had a heart attack from the cost! I know they use the ford dies and what not, but there's got to be something more reasonable out there.

yea, $600 for the set, not including clips. What's that, $20 per foot. Should be made of gold for that price.

the pinstripe kit to do a two tone mid 90s f series is over $800!! For pinstripe!!
At least you would get moulding and a rubber impact strip. Besides, i have seen used complete molding sets going 200-300

Unless you absolutely must have mint condition trim for your truck don't overlook your local pick-n-pulls, i got my complete set (narrow trim) for 40 bucks, granted it wasn't in "mint" condition but it was in "very good" condition.

Yes, don't over look junkyards. The chrome may just be tarnished and a nice buffing will bring out some shine. I've found some pretty good pieces there myself to at least complete my chrome for the sides. They are not perfect, but at least I have something that looks pretty decent until I can start replacing what I need with the "new" stuff.

I about crapped when I saw what new trim is going for. Granted, it's a small price compared to what I've already put into my truck, but there are things I'm willing to pay for and some things I hate paying for.

Bucks77ford; sweet truck! Did you do most of it yourself? I agree getting something used may be the way to go, I may end up putting mine back on. But nothing makes a truck look nicer than shiny chrome moulding, imo.

Thanks. I actually had a friend of mine give me a good deal on painting my truck and doing some light body work and I put everything back together. My brother help me build my motor. If I had a larger garage or shop, I sure would like to have another project I can do ALL myself though.

I'm doing mine and the only part I'm afraid of is the painting part. I'd hate to do a great job and end up with a crappy paint job. Definetly helps if ya have friends that do that.
