Water temp ?'s
I just installed a equus electric water temp gauge. I installed it in the port on the driver side jst below the thermostat neck. Is this where everybody else taps into? Its the plug that requires and odd sized square drive to remove it. Also it is showing an average running temp of 215*-220* at operating temp while the factor guage is showing right in the middle of N on the normal. The outside temp is about 80* and I had no load on the highway. This seems a little hot too hot to me what does anybody else say. If this is correct what is the overheat temp on these engines as on most other diesels at 210* +o- we start getting over heat warnings and alarms. It would appear the factory gauge wouldnt show an overheat till approx 300* or higher Im figuring. What do you think?

Mine truck runs about that. I see about 215 running down the interstate at 70 mph. I've pulled some decent loads and it never gets above 220. You should be able to see when the T-stat opens.
I would not be concerned, each truck is going to be a little different when it comes to temperatures.
