2009 f150 XLT 5.4 3.55ls Driving down the expressway last Wednesday and went to pass a car, hit the gas pedal and the truck just sat there. It had no power. looked at the dash and in the driver info screen i saw an open end wrench pic. I got on the phone to the service dept. at the ford dealer and told him about the wrench and no power. Told me the truck was in "limp mode". Top speed in limp mode is 15 mph. Got the truck in to service. the next day they called me up and said that the throttle by wire went out and i could pick the truck up in a week because nobody had the part, it has to come from ford directly. this sucks.
They should take one off a new one on the lot and fix yours and let the new one set and wait. But they won't do that because then they can't sell that other truck. So you have to wait. (bad service) So tell them to give that other truck to you as a loaner. (good service. Come on Ford.

Any new vehicle should not have it's part stripped to go into another one stuck in the service bay. That's why parts are available.
I assume you meant DEALER by the word DEAL. And I assume the sentence was a question.
If a new Ford part replaced a new but defective Ford part, it wouldn't bother me a bit. (in this case)
How would a new customer know whether this has happened or not ? (in this case)
Lets just say for the good of the thread that parts should not be "robbed" and the customer will just have to wait for a week. I hope he was at least given a "loaner".
I would not like them to remove a part from a lot truck to fix mine. If asked by the dealer to make me happy they would take a part off a lot car i would tell them no. I did get a kia loaner (sucks). It's just that a ford dealer should stock the parts. It's not like every truck is busting the part but they should have 1 or 2 in stock.
