See the cubby in Isen's second pic, to the right of the wheel under the vent? That's where mine is. Just had to cut out the back and it was a perfect fit for my little radioshack.

Has anybody actually found a use for that cubby? Anything I put in it falls out.
If you want to do it correctly use a bale bracket & mount it under the ashtray and run the +/- wires out the drain hole on the passenger side floor and to your battery. Another option for the 12v wire is to use a Fuse tap that hooks on to one of your existing fuse and allows you to put a wire on it with a female quick connect wire terminal. I don't have a CB but do have a 2-way mobile for work. I like the roof mount idea I just don't have room do to an interior lightbar up there. I like that cubby thing for holding my cell phone. I also have seen radios, switchboxes and sirens mounted on top the dash & it didn't look to bad.
Here are a couple pics of the velcro and slots cut for the nylon webbing. I had a Cobra 148GTL, a pretty big radio mounted down there, and it worked great. I wish I had the radio here to show you guys better.
I wasn't sure exactly where I'd like the radio as far as forward and back, so it gave me some adjustment. I also tried it without the strap, but the whole cover fell down when I hit big bumps. The radio only had 2ea. 2 inch wide strips attached to the top of it.
