Just wonderin if there any good. Got a decent price tag.

http://www.shop.powerstrokeconverter...5&productId=12

Just dont know why they would offer a lower stall speed as opposed to a higher stall speen for spool up.

I just installed a different manufacturer's Torque Converter a few months back and I couldn't be happier. I went with a 1600 rpm stall since I wanted the towing benefits and I don't have a larger turbo to spool up. Mine has triple clutches and was made by Precision Industries. I got it for $500 which I felt was a great deal. I'm back to stock right now and it's amazing how well the truck holds OD even when towing in the hills. I haven't noticed any mileage changes, but I also haven't run on the highway in a while which is where I normally monitor the mileage.

Just as a side note, they say the stock stall is between 18-1900 rpms.

just wondering

What led you to beleave that your torque converter was going to go bad? I have a 99/psd w/180k on it and it makes a lot of noise. I have spent aome time around other psd`s shis week some newer some older none of them sound like mine.At an idle lattles and as soon as you give it some fuel it goes away untill I stop again?

It might be the whole trans, but it kinda shuders- vibrates on take off sometimes. And under load like when you give it a little gas to pass someone but not enough to downshift you can feel it. But the transmission is startin to shift funny now too. I had the dealer do a trans flush when they put the motor in, but i think they forgot, because the other day my external filter started leakin so i went and got an o ring for it, and when i opened it up the filter hadent been changed. I just havent had time to do it my self. Also, I think the OD shift solonid is gettin weak since sometimes its hard to get it to shift into OD, sometimes it wont after hard accelaration like a get on ramp.

William,

I would've bought it from David at PI except for the fact that I found the exact one I needed on eBay from a guy in Salt Lake City. He decided against installing it in his truck and so I picked it up for a pretty cheap price ($500) for what I believe to be a very good torque converter. I'm very pleased with the purchase.
