76 glove box question

76 glove box question

Okay, so call me stupid, but I have tried and tried to get my glove box to open. Got it once and my daughter closed it

and now I cannot for the life of me get that stinkin thing to open again. Is there a trick to it? I don't to break the button, but I am about to take a hammer to it!!

Is it just the button that does not push in? Is it a locking type? Is it locked?

Try using a butter knife,or a credit card.
Mine was locked (Locking Type and it was locked) I got it open hoping to find something,but found nuthin'.

Can you push in the button at all? If not, you may have to try and pushing against the door while trying to push the button. Those things can just get stuck and very hard to open. Keep trying and it will eventually open.

Maybe try pushing in on the door itself around the button then, while pushing on the door, push on the button and see if the door will open...

Bang on the center of the dash.

After it opens, clean the gunk out with some heavy-duty degreaser.

Okay, so the button was stuck I think from sitting to long. I sprayed a little WD-40 around the button area and after a few minutes it opened. I sprayed the crap out of it and now it is like NEW, well it works... Thanks guys!
