Alignment would be my guess, toe in problem, sounds like. How old is your truck? It could be anything that would make your tires tilt inward if gone bad, usually the alignment.

x2 take it to a shop. Toe and camber. It isnt a dually is it ??
I'd like to chime in here if I could: I've got the same thing going on only my tires haven't been destroyed yet but they are sure wearing weird though-and mine IS a Dually 2wd, late '99 and it was supoesedly alligned when I had the tires replaced about 5k miles ago.....
If you know of a extremely good shop/guy that does alignments, spend the time/money and take it to him. I had my truck done at a shop a couple years ago; about a year later after a harsh winter and some wheelin' it would pull to the right a bit. Took it to a local shop, said everything was within specs. I took it back to the previous shop(funny enough it was the Ford dealer) and the guy said it was within specs, but he could make it better. And that he did, it tracks as true as anything.
Just an FYI that not all alignment shops or service guys with alignment equipment are the same!

With the 2wd being twin i beam they may not have adjusted the camber since it's more involved. It's also more likely to be out as the springs sag, ride height affects camber on the twin i beam. Sharp edge wear is toe, but wear over one half of the tire is more indicative of camber wear. Other than ball joints....
Another ball joint replacement, both side about a year or two apart, one at 70,000 and the other at 95,000 approx.. Get the front end off the ground, get a breaker bar and put under the tire and lift up, any play up or down, their beat.
It's also more likely to be out as the springs sag,
That's what happened to my front tires. My front springs just got tired after over a quarter million miles. No alignment or ball joints needed, just new front springs and no more funny tire wear in the last 40k miles.
Good idea, it doesn't wander like my past Fords, but I'll check em, standard way, jack her up and wiggle tire, right?

Yes. Wiggle them up and down. If you have access to a press its not too bad of a job. Best i can remember i spent about $100 a side but thats been a year ago. You will have to have a press to get them in and out though.
