Boost gauge, compression fitting question

How tight do I tighten this thing down? I think I may have over tightened it, both ends. The gauge shows zero boost so maybe the ferrell cut the tubing???

You cut or crimped the the line. Needs to be tight so I doubt you over tightened it.

More than likely. It doesn't have to be too much more than 1/4 to 1/2 past hand tight really. I thought, maybe Barry is right.

That's true, but still I doubt it is over tight. More likely crimped.

I don't know how I could of cut the line just routing it, maybe it's kinked. I'll recheck in the morning. Should the gauge move a little at idle or gas it in neutral, mine's completely dead. This will help for tomorrow. I may go the Home Depot and pick up a couple new ferrells anyway. Thanks.

It won't move until you get on it. It's hard to get it to move in neutral or park.

Put a little load on it, the gauge doesn't go anywhere in parked but can fly when your on the move with a good tuner.

I even put it in drive, held the brake and brought it up a bit but the needle was still dead. I thought it needed a little load so I tried that, we'll see tomorrow. Thanks for the tip.

You probably don't have a problem. Get on it and watch it jump to life.

Yep, drive it and get on it. My bet is that it comes right on up.

Please clarify for me.
If he was to disconnect the gauge end of the tube, wouldn't he get a volume of air coming out if it was installed correctly with diesel running?

At idle, he will have only a small volume of air moving, not enough to move the gauge.

Yes, but it would prove that he had no kink in the line!
