I have a 1998 Explorer, V8 with 16" wheels. I recently purchased a 2001 Prowler Travel Trailer Model 25J (GVWR 6000 lbs, tongue weight 500 pounds). I had a Reese Hitch installed with weight distribution system and sway control. I have received differing opinions concerning replacing the standard 4 ply tires with 6 ply to prevent sway. My tires are in good shape and do not need replaced unless the weaker side walls of a 4 ply tire will create a safety hazard. I am new at pulling a large TT and would like some advise.
