Quick question
I think i found a cure! I let it sit out for 3-4 hours in the hot sun on top of our garage yesterday. Its "slowly" getting more dry. Its not NEARLY as bad as it was. So im gunna let it sit out for a few days to let it really cure and it will hopefully be fine here soon.
If not im gunna have to try something eles, and thank you very very much for yalls suggestions!

Had all the gauges painted and what not, put it in last night cause i was heading out to friends house.
They look fantastic! Very very bright and easy to read. BUT my freaking fuel gauge is not working now!!!!

What are some causes that could keep this from working? i tried cleaning around the areas of the circuit board on the back. An loosened the nuts alittle on back, and still nothing.
Any help is very thanked.
needle assembly is exceedingly delicate....
rule out another possibility, I'd first remove the wire from the tank sender and
ground it, the needle should swing all the way in one direction; un-grounding it
should make it swing the other way. Might check for the presence of voltage, too.
But, the likely culprit is something that recently changed, most likely something
in the gauge itself....
I took apart the gauge and i found that the little wire that runs from each side has come unglued on a side. So im gunna glue this, but now im not sure how the needle goes back onto the gauge....lol Any help on how to put it on? Thanks
Can anyone help me out on this needle? Its keeping me from putting my dash back together right now.

I personally would get a used gauge in the wrecking yard. Should be around $10 for the gauge. $35 for a whole cluster. The wrecking yard I frequent will even warrantee the part if it's brought back within a week.
I'm afraid I can't help with the needle.
Nearest junkyard round here is 1/2 hour away and i have no money right now so lol.
If anyone has a instrument cluster out of their truck could they please look at the fuel gauge and tell me how the needle is put on? This is keep me from putting the dash together right now so i gotta figure it out! Thank you!
EDIT: Except for the ammeter, they're all the same gauges inside.
I have never tried to remove a needle; as 81-F-150-Explorer said, these are somewhat-
calibrated instruments and are quite delicate.
Besides, look at those TINY wires! My eyes aren;t that good anymore + I don't know
where my tweezers are....

I figured out how it went on, and found that i bent a peice of the metal also. Of course when i was fiddling with the needle i broke it also hahaha.
So now i gotta find a new gauge anyhow.
Again thank you very much.
On the other note i got some other work done to the truck. I got everything ripped out to the floor today. Than i cleaned the cab real good, (got all the loose paint and grim and ect..) and sprayed everything with rubberized under coating with sound eliminator.
paint-your-gauges stuff, all I had to do was take pix & post 'em.
Heh....-ct
Picked up some carpet padding to use under my rubber floor mat to help with sound and insulation. So im gunna form that to the floor today, fix my rubber mat, and get my bench in. Hopefully lol
Im hoping this carpet padding works good. I dont think it could hurt. Also it was free
Since i had to drive up to Sacramento yesterday to pull a fender i'm a couple days furtehr behind now. (Was gonna try to get my seat in today too) But adding the sound deadener might be a step worth losing another day for.
