Awww you caught me! lol Ive done this too many times now haha. Thats the cause along with when i replaced the heater core, where the hoses go water was getting in through there and going down on my passagers floor. I just caulked that yesterday so there should be no water getting in there.

There is padding for trucks with the exterior sound proofing package. On these the firewall is also covered in sound proofing material, as well as under the floor. This significantly reduces the noise from the outside and from the engine compartment.

Take the mat and padding out and let it dry out. Then with the mat still out, check to see where the leaks are coming from with a hose. Most comon places for leaks are around the windshield. Also check closely the seam where the A pillar attaches to the roof. This is also a place that it can leak, due to the caulking they used going bad with age. You may need to remove the trim around the windshield. If the caulk in the seam is bad, remove the bad caulking from the seam, and use 3M all around body sealant. You can get this sealant at auto paint stores. Also check where the "B" pillar meets the roof, and the floor, and firewall seams. Replace the caulk anywhere it looks old and cracked. You can also use this sealant to replace the caulk in the seams of the bed floor and walls as well. The sealant is paintable, so you can paint it to match the body when you are done.

Btw, has anyone taken out their "FULL" dash before? Ive gotten what it seems to be all the screws out and its still stuck in there and feels sturdy, think i might have to paint a few peices inside my truck lol.

Are you trying to removing the plastic "Cover" from the metal dash supports or the whole entire dash? The plastic itself is also removable, but I seem to recall you have to remove the entire dash to reach all the screws holding it on.

He parks it beside the pond or river when it rains and the fish just jump right in.

Not a problem at all.

Just remove the four bolts and slide it out one of the doors.

You might want to use some penetrating oil and clean the dirt from the exposed threads of the bolts, if it's never been removed. You can gain access to the threads of the bolts from under the truck.

i am so glad to see this post as pulling out the interior is what i'm doing too! (which you may have guessed from that dash-fix post)! So as not to hijack your thread, i'm off to create my own!

I just removed an entire dash in a JY two weekends ago, it really wasn't that hard.
Except for one screw, down by the ashtray area.
So, I took the entire supporting structure, it was a few 10mm bolts in PITA places
by the windshield and a few underneath but then everything came off quite nicely.
Of course, I had already removed the wiring & venting & such.

when removing the seat the 4 seat bolts were easy,it was removing those stupid seat belt bolts.use lots of penetrating fluid on the bottom of the bolts.

Cluster looks great! Were you able to get your gear indicator out to paint it as well?
