Alright just got the first batch of peices painted and drying right now. I did 1 good coat of the adhesive promotor than 3 coats of actual paint. The first coat gets a fair covering of the peice (not everything covered. The 2nd coat gets everything painted and the 3rd is like a touch up coat to get everywhere lightly.
After the first set i must say that its looking great i think! Its hard to tell from my pictures but its a very deep and purdy green! I think it will match up nicely in my truck.
Instead of making us go elsewhere to see the pics by clicking on links, why don't you just use the image tags?
Actually there are several reasons i do that. 1. bigger pictures so you can see them easier. 2. ive noticed that when a thread gets old if people post pictures on the page you cant see them later on down the road.
I hate that, so i figured id just post the website so it can be seen in the future...
I can start posting them in the page if wanted though no biggie for me.
Redid these by repainting a flat black and used a silver sharpie to do the lines. Worked pretty good!
Heres the goods! Got quite a bit painted really. Just got doors, dash pad (when finished), and the few parts inside. Should have everything painted tomarrow.
i am so glad you're ahead of me on this project! everything i'm debating about doing you do first! i was totally trying to decide whether to repaint the black bezels. looking really good!
I would have used satin black on the bezels if I was to paint them myself.
That green is a good match. I like it.
I really really like this green and i feel the paints turning out real good! I personally love the look of flat black. I dont care for a glossy shiny black.
Thanks em! Yea painting the bezel was real easy and didnt take long at all to do.
Of course ever jolly road comes to an end! I just ran into a problem. While painting the interior.
I painted my doors and let them dry. But i got a big problem with them that i dont know what to do.
Where your arm rests on the door, the squishy area of the door, the paint will not dry right and causes the paint to stay very sticky!!! I have no idea what to do about this, ANY suggestions??!?!
Did you remove the arm rests before painting them? Also, did you SCRUB them down really good with detergent to get all of the grease and grime off before you painted?
I have never heard of paint not drying correctly because of how it was sprayed. I'll bet you have junk underneath the paint that is preventing it from drying properly.
Also, on plastic parts that are flexible you need to add a flex agent to the paint so it doesn't crack. That's why SEM is so expensive, it's already added in.

I don't care for flat black, or high gloss black either. Why I suggested Satin. But that's my personal preference.
The stock bezels as off the showroom floor are a mix of Satin and glossy finishes.
If you love the flat black look, then that's the important thing.
