CAMPER PACKAGE (532)
• Heavy service front springs (200 lbs. Upgrade above the
spring computer selected as a consequence of options chosen.
Not included if maximum springs have been computer selected
as standard equipment)
• Rear stabilizer bar
• Slide-in camper certification • Auxiliary springs
NOTE: Salesperson's Source Book or Ford RV Trailer
Towing Guide should be consulted for specific trailer towing
or camper limits and corresponding required equipment, axle
ratios and model availability.
From the VIN, you have a crew cab F250 4x4 6.0L PSD. In 04 they were all 8800lb GVW. As others have noted, unless it had a special package, it did not come with the auxiliary spring (the one on top). Spring codes from door won't tell you if it did or not.
the overload spring comes stock on all F-350's, but is an option for the F-250's for our body style (99-04).
Same on the 05's also, I did not order the camper package so my 05 has no overload springpack.
I use my F-250 for pulling trailers and use the Firestone airbags as adjustable overloads.
I was wondering if those would work, just as well. Thanks.
They work great, you just put in the amount of air that you need depending on how much weight you are hauling so your truck doesn't squat low in the rear.
Scraprat-Curious what the difference is between the F250 & F350 to allow the 8800 vs 9900 GVW difference? Mine is 8800 & my friends is 9900 just as you say & both are single rear wheel & look exactly the same from what I can tell?
BTW- I installed the Timbkin rubber overload bumper thing that looks like air bags but isn't & it works great & it was really cheap. I have the camper pacakge w/ the overload spring which I was supposed to remove but I left it on w/ the Tmbkin's & it works fantastic. I can load it really heavy & it doesn't sag at all.
Thanks
It's likely the size of the block under the rear leaf springs. The F350 gets an overload as stock and the F250 gets one as part of a suspension package (camper, heavy service, plow). All of this can be dependent on year.

How is the block going go to change GVWR? F350's get a bit more spring in the rear than the 250's.
