C$ Shifting Question

I have a 351W/C4 combo in my 1950 F-1 with an Genie floorshift and Lokar AT Kickdown cable installed. Prior to installing the kickdown I test drove the truck and the transmission shifted pretty smooth from 1st to 2nd but struggled getting out of 2nd to 3rd unless the revs were high. Is this a result of the lack of the kickdown at the time or something like the modulator? All help appreciated.

Not an expert but it does sound like a vacuum problem. Pull the pipe off the modulator and look for signs of ATF.

deffinately sounds like your modulator either isnt getting the required vaccum, or you need to replace the module itself. i saw on here that you have a few other posts about your tranny, so not sure if youve already decided it was the modulator or not, but i had similar issues after installing a new tranny. Also you mentioned that you have a side input on the one that is in there atm, it could also need a vaccum line in the rear as well. if there is a "screw" in the end of the moudulator then that is a vaccum port. and you need to hook up two lines.
