I bought a locking hood latch assembly off a member here awhile ago and finally put it in and the cable snapped shortly after. I've looked around and can't find anybody who offers a replacement. Does anybody know where I can get one new or any other more common cars that had the same cable?
I'm in the same boat. Anyone have any suggestions? My cable snapped in the cab, right at the T handle/lock. I've thought about trying to rig a push/pull cable up because they don't seem to stretch much.
Been told of folks using a van hood release cable system; Also told its alittle to long of acable. But guys mention it here on FTE. Check the search button and you might find an old post.
The hood cable is replaceable. Look up all threads started by me. I did a repair in November last year and documented it with picks on photo bucket. Just take your time and you too can have a new cable as I do.

The Econoline's front end is shorter than an F150/350, which means its hood locking cable is shorter, so...it will not work on an F100/350 or Bronco.
Just so everyone knows for sure I got a hood latch cable from an 80-86 truck at the junkyard today and it bolted right up. The one I used was the non-key type but it bolted right in under the dash and hooked right up to the latch perfect. If anyone is interested there were 2 or 3 more that I could grab. Ill post a picture of it tomorrow.
