Hello I was looking for maybe a hood latch and pin replacement that anyone has used? from another manifacture.
The pin thats in the hood has pushed through the panel. So i'm looking for a replacement or just weld the top up or just replace everything with a cable setup and safty catch.

Yes, pictures would help. I am assuming that you mean the dowel or pin (16929) mounted to the hood panel (16848) If so then why not just fix the hood panel? Do you have the safety latch (16896)? I'm trying to help but I'm flying blind here . . .
The safety catch or secondary latch is another story. Particularly the double helix spring. I have not found a source for any of those parts. Maybe NumberDummy can help or perhaps someone on here may have one for you. I would put an ad on this forums classified thread. EBay also has them pop up occasionally. You can also probably fabricate something.
The question that I would look into first is why the dowel broke through the inner hood panel. Did the truck run into something or are the hinges misaligned? You need to find the root cause or it may happen again.
I've had several of these parts, hood dowel, spring, safety catch, and hood latch. However, in the last several months, I've sold them all. I still owe a set to tractormanbill.
Just an FYI... the bracket to mount the safety catch (as pictured above) is welded to the hood in 51, and bolted in 52. The safety catch is the same. What Pete has pictured above is from a 52, because of the mounting holes in the bracket.

Thanks for the correction Ilya. Didn't realize the difference.
What am I missing? The parts manual indicates that they are the same (see attached). Maybe we are not looking at the same part?
You're not missing anything. I was talking about the bracket in your picture to which the spring and safety catch are attached. That bracket is the same in design for 51/52, but with a minor different. In 51, that bracket is spot welded to the hood. In 52, the bracket is bolted to the hood instead of welded. Otherwise, they're both the same.
I'll have to post pictures later to show the differences for future reference.

Wow! That is interesting. The illustrations in the parts manual don't show any attaching parts for either year that I can see.
Thanks for the reply's and yea my safety latch bracket is welded on but no arm. Looks like i'm going to the wrecking yard this weekend to look for something or I have a hood latch and striker from a 2011 Dodge ram.
Guess my pick up is a bas as it has a chevy small block, front clip from 78 pontiac trans am and 10 bolt rear end and a chrysler 4 core radiator.
Hood safety catch bracket bolted onto the 52 hood, as evidenced by remaining broken bolts/nuts.
Great information Ilya! That is the kind of information that you can't find in books. It is a shame that they went away from welding them in place as that certainly is a stronger design as evidenced by the broken and bent '52 version in your picture and mine which I keep bending back into shape. It will break one day. Wish I could find a new one.
The pictures of the '51 bracket are great. I thought that the angles were more complex. . . . might be able to fabricate a new mount. It helps to see one that hasn't been booggered up.
