Do you think that 6x9's will fit in the back?? If they did it would sound pretty decent

6X9s will fit, but you will have to butcher or modify the stock speaker grills that look pretty good the way they are. 5x7 and 6x8s will fit without having to modify anything.

There should be however space for 6x9" in the doors, just gotta be willing to do some sheetmetal cutting. I'm pretty happy with the way mine sound, I listened to both the 6.25" and the 6x9" size of the same model speaker and the 6x9" had a bit more bass so that's what I got. In retrospect I could have just used factory-sized 6.25 fronts and then installed the 6x9 in enclosures behind the seat, but oh well, this way I have more space for stuff back there.

Where are the rear speakers located in a '97 F-250 H.D. Supercab? My truck is a "stripper"--is it possible I don't even have provision for rear speakers?

Are the rear speaker cables pre-routed in our trucks? Are they heavy-gauge enough to be used, or should new speaker cables be run? If the latter, can the original wires be used to "pull through" new cables? How are the rear speaker cables identified, up under the dash?

Is there an official source for all of this stereo information, e.g., the size of the front/rear speaker locations, by model year? Or are you guys just answering from real world experience?

Sorry for the hi-jack.
