Was told it is a '96 model, so started over in that forum. Was advised that it sounded like at least a '97 model. Review of the registration proved that to be correct... it's a '97 F-150, extended cab.

Now... on to the point...

How, in God's name, do we remove the side panel to install a new left rear speaker in an F150, Extended cab? There is no rear door on the left side. We had no trouble installing the front speakers and the rear right speaker, but have no clue how to approach the left rear.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

 

Like most auto interiors, it is layered top to bottom.

Unbolt rear seat bottom, remember to look for two hidden top bolts when seat is flipped out flat!

Unbolt then lift off the rear seat BACK.

Carefully remove the plastic covers on the shoulder belt bolts on the side upper trim panel, then unbolt anchor points. Look for fasteners behind where the rear seat back was, and figure out other hidden pop-in fasteners that hold the panel on. Also unbolt window latch base.

Then figure out how to pull the lower panel. Hidden fasteners, probably some exposed ones too.
