You should change your differential oil...yes. I don't know how often. Look in your owners manual and it will tell u the weight to use. I think mine uses 80 weight Gear Oil. just take the cover to the pumpkin off and drain the oil. then scrape the old RTV( if any was used) and reapply the cover. fill through the hole in the back near the driveshaft insert.
