yes, 75W90 in the front and it can be standard gear lube. the back should be synthetic oil and the book says 75W140. I believe that is too thick and may be the cause of some rear end troubles, but that is what FORD recommends.
I put synthetic 75W-90 GL-5 in both diffs, works very well, and I live in canada where the temperatures get up to minus 30, like this morning The fill on the front diff should be right on the front, a little to the right of the drain plug and farther up, cant miss it!
Thanks a million found both the drain and the fill and change the with what you suggested. found still another problem. fluid was gray. thought water might have gotten in. any thoughts on this???
Next on the hit list is a abs shudder i get in the pedal on occasion. I think it might be the sensor of a warped rotor.. Any thoughts on that???
Mine was grey the first time I changed it right after I bought it too. I think after awhile of not changing it, they just get some condensation in them.
