There's a special trim tool that's shaped like an arrow that inserts under the trim. You then use it to lift the retaining clip that will release the trim. Do a Google search for windshield trim tool and you'll see what I mean.
This link shows how it's done. It's on an older Chevy car but it's pretty much exactly the same. If you jump to 4:52 you can see how the clips are released to get the trim off, with the trim already off.
I never have very good luck with the tool. I use a putty knife, get under the trim, and lightly pry. You can feel where the trim is moving less in certain areas, and that's where the clips are. I gently pry at the clips, and take the side pieces of trim off first going up each pillar. I then use a combination of sliding/prying on the two top pieces and the two bottom pieces.
When you pry some of the clips underneath may go flying, so try to round them up and not lose them. You can bend them back in shape and re-use them.
