So I was looking at a 73 Ford yesterday and it had 4 screws holding the tailight in.
4 exposed screws.
1 on the top , 1 on the bottom and 2 in the middle side by side.
Ive owned a pile of old Fords and have never seen that before?
The guy with the truck said they were all that way.
Anyone ever seen it before?
1974 F100/350's after serial number T80,001; 1975/79 F100/350's use the same taillamps as 1975/91 Econolines.
The Econoline gaskets peel right off.
-----------------------------------
The taillamps used on all 1973's, 1974's before serial number T80,001 are not the same as 1967/72's.
These right/left taillamp lenses were available separately from the metal bodies and use (4) #8 -18 x 1 1/8" screws per side to attach the lens to the body.
The two center screws hold the lens to the housing, and the two outer screws hold the lens and housing to the bed of the truck.
BTW on the 1973-1974 trucks before T80001, the taillamps do have a gasket between the lens and the metal lamp housing, to keep water out of the metal housing.
