Clear Tailights?
I was wondering if anybody knew of a place that would fabricate a custom set of clear tailights for a 1975 F-150? If anybody knows please tell me. Also if you can think of a way for me to do it myself that might work. Thanks

I can't tell you where to get any, but I would like to add a word of caution/advise - Check your local and state regulations before going to clear tail lights - and keep in mind that if you are going to travel you must be aware of other state laws.

I'd second that on checking the law, in many states its illegal to have white light on the back except while in reverse.
I had a backup light switch go out once, and as a temporary fix, I wired in a toggle swith to make the backup lights work. Eventually forgot to turn it off one night and a "nice" lawman pulled me over to remind me to turn it off.
That was the end of the toggle switch and I fixed it right.

I really don't think the clear tailights are legal ANYWHERE! Removing the red lenses takes away your rear red reflectors. I've seen clear tailights on ebay for different cars and trucks and they usually say "For show use only". IMHO I think clear tailights have to be one of the most moronic things out there. What are you going to "show"? Your tailight bulbs? 
Hope the fog lights, thumping stereo, stainless megaphone muffler (see where this is going?)and vinyl graphics aren't next LOL.

To each his own. I personally don't like the clear tailights either, but I don't think I'd goto the extent of calling them, or the people that use them, moronic.
But here's some info. Tailight lenses are made from moulded injection plastic forming. The final product isn't that expensive, but the tooling required to make the product is ridiculously expensive. If you were looking to just get a set or two made, it would be a lot cheaper to find a shop with a CNC machine that could mill plastic appropriately. I'm guessing that a good metal machine shop could do it for you, just be ready for some puzzling looks. The CNC end product will need some finish polishing and get ready to put out some good coin to have it done.
As for the legality of them, the other posters are 100% correct. They are illegal. However, you CAN get red bulbs (even the new LED type) to go in your sockets that will lessen your chances of being pulled over.

i was reading a thread a while back about clear tail lights for nearly any vehicle. The company is in Canada. They will do any lights on any vehcile for you for a reasonible price.
i dont remember what the name of the company is, do a search for "clear tail lights" and that thread i am talking about should appear.
I had all the lights done on my 78 F250 and it looks DARN good!! (only because i like clear lights). it cost me roughtly $300 for all.

Wow you guys just bash this guy why dont yeah all he wanted to know was were and you guys are calling him moronic.
i think you all owe him a appology if you dont know the answer i dont think you should tell him hes a moron and not to do it.
Myself i dont think there that bad at all, if someone wants to put a wing on a truck or suicide doors im not going to shun him, ill help him along.
Alot of you remind me of half the places in town ive gone to track down stuff. they dont gimme a straight answer just that they dont like the way they look.!!!
And all i asked was were to find this item not if they liked it!!!!
All in all guys smarten up or posters may start leaving.

I guess I should take back the word "moronic"...guess it might have been a little too critical for the situation. Didn't mean to throw flames at anybody, therefore I apologize. It's just that in my neck of the woods everything with the clear tailight modification is an economy car turned race car...I don't like clear tailights, but I guess some people might think I'm foolish for yanking V8s out of my trucks and swapping in 300 sixes LOL.
