Okay, so i'm currently driving a 2000 chevy 2500 and i got a 12" rocksford fosgate p3 and one of the door speakers blew so quick it was not even funny. I just bought a 1993 f150 and I am getting either 2 12" kicker cvx or 1 15" kicker cvx. What would you guys suggest as far as that like what would be best to fit in an ext cab truck and what would sound best? How much of a difference on bass will it make in comparison to my p3? If alot then i'm going to want to upgrade my door speakers to something that sounds good and will not blow. any suggestions there? What about hooking a amp up to the aftermarket door speakers?
Also I have been looking around for the kickers and where do people generally get the best deals on them? The cheapest I cold find for one 15" cvx was $219.00 and the box i'm getting is $59.99.
And which sounds better for rap/country? 12"s or 15"?
Also how would it sound to have a 12" kicker and my 12" p3?
Or a 15" kicker and my p3?
Also, what amp would be best for them? (My max range as far as amps go is $250.00)
I currently have an 1800 watt amp, but my friend said that i'd be better off with a different amp. (Idk the brand of it)
I like tight, accurate bass, so I go with 10s in a sealed box. Takes up a lot less room too. I had two Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1s in the trunk of my Intrepid before I sold it and they were very tight and retardedly loud.
Well, I went ahead and went with the 15" kicker. The max on the sub is: 2000. The RMS on the sub is: 1000. So with those ratings what would you guys suggest for a good amp?
2 12s would sound the best. Sense 12s are smaller in diameter they hit more in the same time the 15 would. The kickers should be about the same to your p3. JL audio makes the best speakers and subs in my opinion on the market for sound quality and clear bass and not to mention they can really hit! You can hook up a amp up to your speakers but you would need a 4 channel amp. The best deals to get speakers would be to buy them from a pawn shop or craigslist, next to that ebay is your best bet. And mix matching subs is way to "ghetto" in my opinion and just stupid because diffrent brands put out diffrently some move more air then others, some have a higher rms rating. Also mix matching the size of subs is a HUGE no no they can cancel each other out and can end up sounding like crap. The best amp would be like a kicker, JL audio, or audiobahn. You want to look at the RMS rating, the peak number means absolutly nothing. Be careful of what amp you buy because alot of companys over rate there amps and do not produce nearly what they say. JL audio, and kicker and the higher end brands are the only ones that produce the true power that they say. Also the box makes a HUGE diffrence on how subs sound and hit, ported boxes are alot louder and push more air and sound alot better. Hopefully that helps
Okay, so my sub is still being shipped to me, but it is a 15" kicker compVX. It is 1000W RMS and 2000 PEAK. So I have been looking at some kicker amps. Someone else told me that a 1000W amp would be plenty for that sub. So should I get a 1000W amp that the RMS rating is 1000W or the PEAK is 1000? Thanks, Tyler.

I would get a amp with atleast 600+ rms, like i said before peak means absolutly nothing. Also the box is acutally the most important thing, its all about acoustics and all that fancy stuff. Put the 15" in a ported or custom ported box and that thing should really hit!
Okay, thank you! Yeah, the box I got was the right size and it is a ported box. I am use to a sealed box with my rockford fosgate p3 punch so i will probably notice a large difference.
