Has anyone ever put a small subwoofer in their F150 standard cab? I want to put a nice clean, small stereo system in my truck but I am somewhat stumped on which way I want to go with the subwoofer. I know a good deal about car stereo gear because I competed for 2 years with my standard cab toyota pickup. You'll laugh when you hear how much "stuff" I had in this small truck!
I used 1 gauge wire with a 140 amp curcuit breaker under the hood. I had the subs and the 6x9's in the bed of the truck. I put a cap on the bed and removed the back sliding window in the truck, and removed the slider in the cap and used accordian boot to seal off the air and water. My best "burp" was 154.2 DB @ 47 Hz...But, I needed the truck bed for more than just speakers...lol...I had a house built and took everything back out.
So, I want just a small system and have most of the stuff that I will need for the install, but I need to know if anyone has ever used any kind of bass "tubes" in their truck? It will have to be no more than 8" I'm sure with the seat all the way back. If the tubes wont fit or work real weel, I will build a sub box to custom fit behind the seat, but I want to avoid this.
i have a 90 f-150 reg cab, alpine 4ch amp infinity 6.5's in front cerwin vega 6x9's in rear, 10" alpine type R sub in a bazooka tube behind the seat. Yes i had to move the seat up, and sometimes it got uncomfortable, so its not in there currently, and yes it did hit pretty well.

Good to know....But I thought that the rear speakers were 5x7's not 6x9's????
true, but my model year, ford did not offer rear speakers, i think a 4 speaker stereo was first offered in '92 for the regular cab pickup, mine are sittin in boxes on the floor!
